SMART WORK the film

Thomas Murtha
Smart Work the film started in about 2007 when my father and I decided that we would each take one of my grandfathers' stories and work them into screenplays .... I'm still waiting for my father's screenplay!
Needless to say this has been a long process but one that I have never really let go of. Sometimes it sat on the shelf but I always went back to it and brushed it off, wrote/worked it some more, sent it out for critiques, went back etc etc. I submitted to the ReelWorld Emerging 20 in 2011 (http://www.reelworld.ca/Portals/0/PDF/IFL%202011%20Program%20Guide.pdf) and was able to pitch and talk about this film to numerous film professionals. But it wasn't until I took Raindance's Weekend Film Workshop and their Lo-to-No Budget Workshop that I finally stopped talking and started working and the rest is ... history!
I feel so proud of my cast/crew and so thankful for the support of myfamily and friends on this journey. But its only just begining.....
